THREE SKILLS PEOPLE NEED TO SUCCESSFULLY TRAIN THEIR DOG:
1.) FEEDBACK TO THE DOG IS BINARY:
-Got the behavior right? "Good boy!"
-Got the behavior wrong? Punish or redirect
2.) REINFORCEMENT FEEDBACK:
-Differential Reinforcement
-Only reinforce above-average responses (aka Raising the Criteria of a Behavior)
-The BEST responses get jackpots!
3.) PUNISHMENT:
-Definition: A stimulus which decreases the immediately preceeding behavior so that it is less likely to happen again in the future.
-Nowhere does it mention that punishment has to be painful or fearful!
